The William Buckland Foundation

The William Buckland Foundation aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged Victorians through grants that support better housing, health, education and employment outcomes. We also fund initiatives that build resilience in rural and regional communities.

Since its establishment in 1965, the Foundation has distributed in excess of $141m for Victorians.

The wishes of William Buckland as expressed in his will underpin our strategy as we continue to adapt our practices, thinking and approach.

The William Buckland Foundation is coming up to its 60th anniversary and the Trustees and team are taking the opportunity to reflect on what’s been working and how we can best honour William Buckland’s aspirations for the next 60 years and beyond.

In light of our existing commitments, we are not accepting applications for new grants at this time. We will launch our new strategy with clear guidance for charities in 2025.
